The Pastoral Council
Members: Bruce Wenzlick, Amy Jenrow, Nancy Ferrigan, Janet Cicalo, Dave Draper, Hilary Kline, Linda Schneider, Jim Turnwald – Chairperson, and Mike Schneider.
Officially the Pastoral Council advises the pastor and assists in the pastoral care of the parish. The Pastoral Council does not serve as a board of directors or legislative body. Focused on mission and not management,The Pastoral Council is an invaluable resource to the pastor and the parish. Finance Council
Members: Tammy Schieffer, Cheryl Bishop, Joe Vincke, Carolyn Birchmeier, Leo Wendling, Richard White – Chairperson, and Mary Eickholt.
The Finance Council is a standing committee of the Pastoral Council and is basically responsible for assisting the pastor in the administration of the parish’s material resources. Unlike other commissions, the Finance Council is required by Cannon Law. The Finance Council supports the parish’s pastoral ministries and advocates sound management practices. In supporting pastoral ministries of the parish, the Finance Council responsibilities include: resource development, budget preparation and review, overall fiscal accountability, and the care of the buildings and grounds.
Education Commission
The Education Commission serves as a standing committee of the Pastoral Council. This Education Commission is advisory and consultative to the pastor in matters pertaining to parish services identified as Ministers of Word. These include ministries of evangelization, religious education, youth ministry, and family ministry. Responsibilities of the Education Commission include research, learning and planning, development of mission, goals and priorities, assistance in formation of programs and services, two way communication between pastor, staff, and parish community, and linkage to the other principle ministries of Worship and Christian Service.
Christian Service Commission
This Christian Service Commission serves the needs of the parish community, and reaches out to the broader neighborhood and civic communities. Services such as direct assistance of the poor, support groups, and evangelization outreach are the responsibility of the Christian Service Commission.
Worship Commission
The Worship Commission see’s that the parish’s liturgical life is vibrant and the various liturgical celebrations build up the prayerful community. The Worship Commission also develops, promotes, and coordinates prayer services, liturgical celebrations, devotions, and other means by which the parish offers its members opportunity for spiritual growth and development as individuals and as parish community. Art and environment aspects of the worship space are also the group’s responsibility.
Building Commission
Members: Rick Wenzlick, Scott Ruddy, Joe Hemgesberg, Greg Bishop – Chairperson
The Building Commission is responsible for overseeing the short and long term planning of building updates and renovations of all parish structures and grounds. Members are required to have a maintenance / building background.
Social Commission
Members: Lisa Krupp – Chairperson and Shelly Wendling
Cemetery Commission
Members: Bill Krupp – Chairperson, Kay Gross, Gene Ziola, Ray Andres, and Ruth Hemgesberg
Stewardship Commission
Members: Arthur Birchmeier, John Copes, Cheryl Bishop, and Tammy Schiefer
The Parish Stewardship Commission serves as a standing Commission of the Parish Pastoral Council. This Commission is advisory and consultative to the pastor or pastoral administrator and designee. This Commission collaborates with all other commissions and committees of the parish to ensure the ongoing life-long education, formation, conversion and facilitation of stewardship as a way of life within the lives of individual parishioners and the parish as a whole.
